below you can learn more about the following 3 key experiences: studying in Sweden, becoming civically active in the Carolinas, and participating in the Husky Leadership Certificate Program
Year 1: Summer 2019
Study Abroad in Sweden
In the Summer 2019 I studied abroad in Sweden with the University of Washington Honors Program. My coursework looked at Sweden as a global leader on human rights. Studying abroad during my undergraduate career was always a personal goal of mine, but I found something much better than a box to check. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to study human rights, a topic I care deeply about, in a very special way. Throughout this key curricular experience, I gained a better sense of what I wanted to do after my undergraduate career and who I want to be.

Common Power
When I started as an intern with Common Power (CP) during my second year at UW I wanted to learn how a nongovernmental organization succeeds, better understand voting rights and voter justice, and gain work experience. At the end of my six months I had registered voters, shook hands with 46th US President Joe Biden, attended a Trump rally, and received a full-time job offer. Throughout this very first internship experience I grew immensely both as a professional and person and I still work at Common Power today.

Husky Leadership Certificate
Being part of the Husky Leadership Certificate program was a transformative experience for me. After years of hard work I needed to have the time and space for reflection. This program reminded me of how important on-going reflection is to my personal growth.
