learning statement
change & growth 🌱
There is an important pattern amongst my key undergraduate career moments: each moment occurred when there was a period of change and, after this initial change, I experienced a period of growth. This is true from the very first act of choosing to attend UW – after adamantly opposing the idea – to grieving recent losses along the way. I’ve learned that the only thing constant is change, but I am still learning to find comfort in this and embrace change as opportunities for transformation.

Change can happen intentionally-- you make a choice to study abroad --and it can also be completely out of your control-- a global pandemic interrupts your second year. It can also be a mix (it’s not a binary!). Regardless of how the period of change occurred it’s because of those changes that I’ve grown into the person I am today. Although I haven’t always welcomed the change, in my reflection I’ve found how important it is to my development.
